Hotham Hall Estate has announced the appointment of Paul Hunter as its new General Manager, tasked with leading the launch and commercial development of East Yorkshire’s newest luxury hospitality destination.
Paul brings a wealth of experience across complex, multi-faceted hospitality operations, with a career spanning branded and independent hotels, new openings and large-scale estate management, in both London and Yorkshire. At Hotham Hall Estate, he will oversee the transformation of the estate into a fully operational hospitality business, incorporating accommodation, weddings and events, food and beverage outlets and wider leisure offerings.
Paul joins from Swinton Estate, where he served as General Manager with responsibility for all leisure and hospitality across the 20,000-acre estate. During his tenure, the estate achieved significant commercial growth and industry recognition with national accolades, including a Sustainable Tourism Award and recognition at The Cateys.
Previously, Paul led the successful launch of No.1 York, steering the hotel from acquisition through rebrand and into opening. The hotel went on to be ranked number one in York on TripAdvisor and was named among TripAdvisor’s Hottest New Hotels in the World.
A Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality, Cornell University graduate & Innholder Scholar with the Master Innholders, commenting on his appointment, Hunter said:
