Private dining at Hotham Hall means dinner in a Grade II* listed Georgian house, cooked by our own chefs. We write a new menu for each occasion and plan the table setting, lighting, and wines around it, and every private dining experience is exclusive, the only event of the evening, with the full attention of the estate yours throughout.
The King Edward Ballroom offers real grandeur for larger occasions, its soaring ceilings and chandelier creating an atmosphere both formal and impressive, while the Drawing Room suits smaller, more intimate dinners. The Prince of Wales Library Bar and Colonel Jack's Bar offer a warmer setting for conversation, and The Carriage House's contemporary spaces provide a further alternative. Our kitchen delivers across the full spectrum, from relaxed gastro-style menus to multi-course fine dining, with wine lists, premium spirits, and bespoke cocktails curated to complement every occasion.

We offer the full range, from relaxed gastro-style menus and sharing plates to multi-course fine dining occasions. Every menu is created specifically for your occasion and your guests, so the style and tone of the evening is entirely in your hands.
Private dining can be hosted in the King Edward Ballroom, the Drawing Room, the Prince of Wales Library Bar, Colonel Jack’s Bar, and The Carriage House event spaces. Our team will advise on the most suitable space for your occasion and guest numbers.
Yes. All food and drink at Hotham Hall is prepared and served by our in-house team. We do not use external catering companies, and every menu is crafted specifically for your occasion.
Yes. The estate’s luxury bedrooms across the Hall and The Carriage House (The estate has 17 rooms in total: five in the Hall and 12 in The Carriage House (note that one of the 12 suites in The Carriage House is a two-bedroom suite, providing occupancy for four guests)) are available for overnight stays, allowing your guests to extend the experience and enjoy the estate at a more relaxed pace.
